Get your Immune System Ready for Winter Challenges
It is well known Colds & Flu’s are especially prevalent in Winter and the best way for your body to fight this is to be proactive with a Strong Immune System before illness hits!!
It is also important to have Herb Tonics and Sprays ready for immediate use when you feel the threat of a sore throat.
This workshop will go through reliable and quick remedies you can have in your pantry or fridge to grab whenever you need.
You will be involved in making a number of remedies which you will take home to continue the process of 'growing' your medicines.
All ingredients will be supplied for you.
Refreshments and herbal teas (sorry, no Coffee) will be provided throughout the morning.
A "How to" Booklet containing recipes and detailed instructions will be supplied for you to take home. These recipes will give you a good grounding so you can modify them to your own preference should you choose.

HOW BITTERS CAN TOTALLY CHANGE YOUR LIFE
THIS SIMPLE ADDITION TO YOUR ROUTINE CAN MAKE VAST CHANGES TO YOUR BODY!
There are very few studies that have been undertaken on this topic, however Bitters have been used for Centuries, and the earliest known marketed Bitters were in the 17th Century.
The most acknowledged purpose of Bitters is to help the Digestive System work as it is meant to, meaning the liver enzymes, bile and hydrochloric are all stimulated prior to eating. This process must kick in to properly digest the food you are eating. If there is not enough acid in your stomach, instead of your food being digested, it begins to ferment which can lead to reflux and bloating. If the bile is not stimulated to be released from your gallbladder into your small intestine, this will eventually lead to constipation. If the entire process is disrupted along with poor quality food, it can lead to damage to the mucosal lining and microflora which can result in hormonal issues, immune issues and gut issues to say the least.
In this Workshop we will discuss HOW including Digestive Bitters with your food, in the morning or last thing at night can have such a positive impact on your body’s systems, including digestive, nervous, cardiovascular and immune systems, resulting in noticeable improvements in handling ‘Lifestyle’ illnesses, helping to regulate body cravings for certain foods and bring regularity and wellness back to your digestive system.

Learn to Ferment much more than Sauerkraut and Kimchi
LEARN TO FERMENT MORE THAN JUST CABBAGE!
COST $150 PER PERSON
By attending this workshop you will learn:
1) WHY you should include fermented foods as a probiotic in your daily diet to improve gastro-intestinal health. This will assist in reducing any dietary issues you may be experiencing and also help moderate your immune system (as approximately 70% of our immune system is based in our digestive system), and:
2) Learn how versatile it is to ferment a huge variety of foods, so you do not get bored with the standard sauerkraut and kimchi.
We will begin with the base Sauerkraut and Kimchi but you will have the opportunity to add foraged herbs, flowers, spice it up or down depending on the herbs & spices you choose to add.
I will also show you how to ferment mushrooms, onions, make fermented relishes and even ferment strawberries to include in smoothies etc.
Location of the event is Toowoomba and the venue will be confirmed with you in the week leading up to it - spaces for this workshop are limited to 7.
Cost of the workshop is $150 per person. This includes the supply of all ingredients, a detailed instruction book enabling you to undertake your own fermentations at your leisure in the comfort of your home.
You will take home a jar of each ferment created to continue learning and managing fermentation process over the next few weeks.
Morning tea is provided and this will include a sample dip showing what you can do with leftover kimchi/sauerkraut liquid.
Herb teas are provided but NOT coffee!

FARMHOUSE FRUIT & VEGETABLE WINES
CREATE YOUR VERY OWN UNIQUE WINES FROM NATURES INGREDIENTS
Fruit & Vegetable Wines can be wonderful to create, much cheaper and in many instances, much healthier as they do not include the preservatives and additives that many wines include from your bottle shop! They can be used as a cordial/flavour base with mineral water, further fermented with herbs to create a tonic, given as gifts or simply enjoyed with friends and a meal.
Recently some of the wines I have created at home include: Cumquat, Elderflower and Elderberry, Wattle Flower, Potato and Black Tea, Beetroot, Orange Juice & Chocolate, Molasses based Wellness Mixture and an Apple & Lychee wine. There really is no limit to your creations and over the years there have only been a couple of ferments I have tossed out as the result was certainly not what I imagined!!
At this workshop you will be shown the basics of creating any wine, taste some of the wines I have created and be given an instruction booklet to help you have as few ‘whoopsies’ as possible as you progress through your journey of creation. No matter if your preference is for sweet or dry varieties, you are able to adapt your ferments to every occasion and from each fermentation, you will bottle approximately 6-8 bottles of wine.
There are many utensils and systems you can use for alcohol fermentations, however in this Workshop I keep it basic and inexpensive giving you the opportunity to build on your knowledge and styles as you become more experienced. Creating your own ‘wild’ yeast instead of having to purchase yeast will also be covered.
Costing for Workshop - You will have 2 options, 1) purchase the list of required ingredients and utensils I will supply to you prior to attending or 2) be supplied with everything needed on the day by me.

Option 2) Cost will be given to you prior to the Workshop Attendance - estimate maximum $175

This Workshop will teach you how and why you should include fermented foods for probiotics in your daily diet to improve gastro-intestinal health, reduce dietary issues and also for immune system boosting - 70% of your Immune System is in your GUT!!
The purpose of the workshop is not only to show you how to ferment the usual sauerkrauts etc. but how versatile it is to ferment so many varieties of foods.
We will begin with Base Sauerkraut and Kimchi and then show how you can create a multitude of varieties with different ingredients. You will also learn how to ferment other surplus vegetables. The last ferment will be a surprise on the day... probably using fruit
You will take these products home so you can continue to experience the fermentation process.

HOW HERBS WERE USED FOR NATURAL REMEDIES
HOW CAN YOU USE THE PLANTS IN YOUR GARDEN??
You are aware of how beneficial plants can be when introduced into your daily life, now attend this workshop to learn how plants were once used for healing and general wellness.
We will cover how to preserve/dry plants for availability when they are out of season, what care must be taken using herbs, recipes and recipes that were common place in the 'olden days'!!
This is a "hands on" workshop allowing you to practise what we discuss.
An information booklet is included with all of the techniques and recipes we talk about in the session.

Refreshments will be supplied and samples of what we create will be given for you to take home.

BENEFICIAL HERBS FOR YOUR GARDEN
STOP SPRAYING THE WEEDS!!!
Are you aware that many common 'weeds' can be highly beneficial for minerals, vitamins and historically were used in daily life.
It used to be common to raid the garden using what we term weeds for health purposes.
Gradually in the late 1800's and early 1900's this information was replaced with what is considered Modern Day Medicine and 'old knowledge' began to disappear as it was no longer considered good enough.
Recently there has been a surge of interest in the 'old ways' and this is what I would like to share with you.
Class commences at 9.30am Sunday 10th November 2024 for 2.5 hours.
It will be held in my garden, booklet and refreshments will be supplied.
Cost $80 per person and you can take home plants to begin creating your own 'Ancient Herb Garden'.
You will receive an information booklet which will include details of plant actions and best ways to use them.
Refreshments will be supplied including a special Herbal brew - Sorry, no Coffee!!
